We had a good experience renting from Sixt early May. We rented a Volvo V90 and were given a 2024 Volvo V90 plug in hybrid with just 10000 km and studded winter tyres which was a pleasant surprise! The plug in allowed us to save a lot of money driving around Lofoten as we could charge at our hotels overnight. Auto pass (toll chip) was in the vehicle although price wasn't quoted on our booking it was 296 nok for 7 days plus any tolls or ferries. Pick-up was easy and quick, drop off was very much the same, just park where you picked it up and drop the keys back at the kiosk in the airport. Next time we are back we will choose sixt again!

I do not get all the negative comments, we have rented a car from Sixt in June 2023 for 7 days, the lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful and the car was in a good condition. The car you receive is probably going to wait for you on a rather dark (underground) parking lot, so make sure to film / take photos of the car once again in the better lighting conditions, for example at the gas station which is 1 minute drive from the parking lot (when you exit go to the left). We didn't have any issues with the car or the deposit upon the return. PLEASE NOTE that you are going to be charged some amount from your deposit as a payment for the highways/payed bridges you have taken during your trip. However, it was not a surprise for us as it was clearly indicated in the contract and the lady at the reception has mentioned it as well. Just as an example, we have travelled from Tromso to the Lofoten islands and back and were charged around 36€ for the tolls.

Had no issue with this car rental shop. We took pictures of existing damages and odometer of the cars before driving. And took another set of pictures when returning. We made sure we paid the parking fees too as the parking fine is not cheap. The admin fee of paying the fine is expensive too.
