Toulouse-Blagnac Airport

The lady at the airport arrival area was very helpful. My reservation was for a Fiat 500 EV, but when she found out that I was going to Carcassonne, she offered other gasoline powered alternatives in the same price range (she explained that Carcassonne does not have as many charging stations as Toulouse or other big French cities) or a BYD Atto EV which has more range. It was more expensive but since I was able to save on hotel accommodations, I went for the upgrade. The car was clean, in excellent condition and great to drive in and around Carcassonne. My only challenge was learning the EV recharging methods in France, with app instructions that are difficult to follow even if translated to English. Luckily, the manger at the hotel I was staying at was able to explain the process to me. I wish the SIXT staff briefed me about this as it was my first time to drive an EV in a foreign country. At the handout, a lady SIXT staffer was very helpful with the adjustment of the car settings to English, showed me the how-to's of the BYD, and its standard equipment, esp the charging cables for home use or at charging stations. After a week of driving, it was a smooth return process. The guy who got the keys was very friendly and accommodating, especially because I forgot some things in the car which I needed to come back for, just as I was already at the airport departure area. Upon my return to my home country, I received the invoice emailed to me from SIXT. No surprise charges, despite my not having cleaned the car or put in at least 80% charge on its battery, as informed at the registration. On my next trip to Europe, I'll definitely put SIXT in my shortlist of rental companies.
