Booking through car rental portals or credit card

Am I insured when booking through car rental portals?

If you booked the SIXT rental vehicle through a car rental portal (third-party), you may have already taken out insurance against damages that was offered there. Please check your documents for this information.


Coverage through the credit card provider

Some credit card providers support their customers in case of damages and cover the costs depending on the scope of services. We recommend checking the terms and conditions of your credit card provider for more information.


How can we support you?

1. Report the damage to SIXT
In case of vehicle damage, we will ask you for further details regarding the incident. We will also send you a copy of this information via email. With your information, we can significantly fasten the process of handling the damage.

2. Report the damage to the insurer/third-party/credit card company
You can also contact your insurer, the third-party where you made the booking or credit card company simultaneously and report the damage.

3. Payment processing
In the unlikely event that you need to pay for the damage to us, we offer convenient payment options.
We recommend informing your insurance company, the third-party or credit card provider about the outcome. They will inform you whether and how much they will reimburse you if necessary.
