Rental Vehicle Damage:
- Q: What should I do if my rental vehicle is damaged because of severe weather?

Fees and Penalties:
- Q: Will SIXT waive any fees or penalties because of severe weather?
- A: SIXT may waive certain fees or penalties if the hurricane directly impacts your rental. Please contact our customer service department for more information.
Cancellations:
- Q: Am I able to cancel my rental reservation because of severe weather?
- A: Yes, you can cancel your reservation online at sixt.com/service. A prepaid cancellation fee may apply. However, a SIXT team member will review each cancellation related to the storm and closure of a branch, and a refund may be issued.
Important Note: If you made your reservation through a third party, please contact them directly for their policy on changes or cancellations.
Late Returns:
- Q: What if I am unable to return my rental vehicle on time because of severe weather?
- A: If you are unable to return your rental on time due to the hurricane, please contact our customer service department to discuss your options.
Refuelling:
- Q: Will I be charged if I return my rental vehicle without a full tank of gas if the gas stations are closed because of severe weather?
- A: Customers who did not add the optional refuelling package at pickup will be charged the current average fuelling rate for the location instead of the standard refuelling fees.
Returning to a Closed Location:
- Q: The SIXT location I’m supposed to return my vehicle to is closed. Can I return it to another location because of severe weather?
- A: Yes. Contact our Customer Service team via email at service@sixt.com or by calling 1 (888) 749-8227. They will direct you to the nearest location where you can safely return your vehicle.
Important Note: The one-way fee may be temporarily waived for customers originally scheduled to return vehicles to a location closed due to weather conditions (certain restrictions apply). This waiver applies only to returns made during the closure period at an alternative location designated by our Customer Service team. Please contact our service center for further details.
