THIRD PARTY INSURANCE (TI)
All our Sixt car rental deals in France include third party insurance with Third Party Liability coverage. This coverage is for personal injuries, for material damages and for damages to the environment.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
The LDW, including Theft Protection, aims to protect you from costly financial liabilities in case of damage to your vehicle or theft. Different vehicle categories have different deductible amounts in case of an incident. Please see the rental information on the booking page for a detailed breakdown of these amounts or ask your branch manager on arrival.
Tire and Windshield Coverage
This zero-deductible coverage is a great way to protect yourself from damages to the glass parts of your vehicle, as well as the tires, so you don’t have to worry about navigating the occasional back road. The cost depends on what category of vehicle you have rented.
Personal Accident Protection (PAI)
Our PAI covers you up to a limited amount in case of injury, invalidity or a fatal accident. The protection can also be extended to cover the consequences of an accident.
Roadside Protection
This extended breakdown protection incurs the high costs of some of the most common incidents like locking the keys in the vehicle, running out of gas, a dead battery, or a stuck vehicle.
LIMITATIONS OF COVERAGE
Be sure to check out our in-depth rental information on the booking page to learn about the coverage options for the country you plan to rent a car in. If you’re planning to visit neighboring countries when driving across Europe, you can the branch manager at pick-up about any variations to your coverage in specific regions. Different territorial restrictions apply depending on your vehicle selection and the location of your branch. If you travel outside of these areas, your coverage loses its validity.
Make sure that you always travel with the authorized driver as stated on the rental contract and that you keep your valid driving license with you in case of an event. The transportation of dangerous goods is excluded from third party insurance.
WAYS TO SAVE MONEY ON YOUR RENTAL IN FRANCE
- While it is often useful to pick up from a premium location, such as an airport, upon arrival, branches outside of train stations and airports often do not incur the premium location fee.
- Fill up your tank before returning your vehicle. We provide our vehicles with a full tank and if they are returned without being filled you will incur a refueling charge.
