To rent MILES carsharing cars, you need the latest version of the SIXT app. Open the "Share" tab to find all available SIXT share and MILES cars in the area. You can rent and unlock your vehicle directly in the app and start your trip. You can leave the business area during your trip, but returning your car at the end of the rental period is only possible within the business area.
 

• Minimum age of 21 years (certain vehicle categories require a minimum age of 25 years) 
• Valid driver's license for vehicles with manual and automatic gear shifts (certain vehicle categories require a driver's license that was issued at least five years ago) 
• Registration in the app and account activation by SIXT
• The latest version of the SIXT app 
• Valid credit card for payments 

Currently, MILES vehicles are available in Augsburg, Berlin, Cologne, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Munich, Potsdam and Stuttgart.

• Go to the "Share" tab in the SIXT app to view all available vehicles. When you find a suitable car, you can reserve it for 10 minutes free of charge or rent it directly. 
• You can unlock your car in the SIXT app, but unlocking only works if you are less than 500 m away. 
• Press the Start/Stop button to start your car or use the key from the glove compartment if your vehicle does not have a Start/Stop button.

• Check the vehicle for any pre-existing damage before starting your journey. Send an e-mail to hello@miles-mobility.com to report new damages. 
• Enter your PIN in the SIXT app to unlock the vehicle. 
• You can leave the business area during your trip, but returning your car at the end of the rental period is only possible within the business area.
• The maximum rental period for MILES cars is 30 days.

Yes. To park your car temporarily, press "Park" in the SIXT app to activate the parking mode. You pay 0.29€/min in parking mode. 

Please follow the MILES parking rules.

Did you rent a van? Please note that the parking mode is activated and charged automatically during loading and unloading, even if the doors remain unlocked. 

• Before you end your trip, please make sure you are within the business area shown on the map.
• You cannot end your trip in a no-parking zone (marked in red in the app).
• Park the vehicle in permitted parking zones on public roads according to traffic regulations.
• Check that all windows and doors are closed and that you removed all personal belongings before leaving the vehicle. 
• Click "End journey" in the SIXT app to complete your trip.

Please check the following if you cannot end your trip:

• Are you within the business area?
• For vehicles with keys: Are the keys in the glove compartment? 
• Are all windows and doors closed?
• Did you turn off the engine? 
• Is GPS reception impaired? (This can happen if you park the vehicle under a bridge, in a parking garage, etc.)
• Do you have internet access and sufficient data volume on your smartphone?

Yes. You can start your trip in one city and end it in another if this city is available in the SIXT app. This applies to all vehicle categories and includes all available cities. There is an additional city-to-city fee on top of the regular rental costs. You can find the additional fees for city-to-city trips with MILES here. 

Please note:

• Potsdam and Berlin share a business area. You can start your trip in one city and end it in the other city without an additional fee.
• Cologne, Bonn, and Düsseldorf share a business area. You can start and end your trip without additional costs in either of the three cities.

MILES has adjusted the refueling process. The vehicles are now refueled digitally. For this reason, you will no longer find physical fuel cards in the vehicles.

Digital refueling is not yet possible in the SIXT app. We are already working hard to integrate the new digital function. If your rental cannot be terminated due to a low fuel level (less than 5%), please contact MILES customer service directly at +49 30 837 965 82.

Unfortunately, charging of MILES electric vehicles is not yet possible in the SIXT app. If your rental cannot be terminated due to a low battery level of 15% or less, please contact MILES customer service directly.

Place the lost item in the glove compartment or in the wheel well (trunk) of the vehicle so that the owner has a chance to retrieve their lost item. Alternatively, you can also submit it to the municipal lost and found office of the respective MILES city.

• License plate
• What did you find? Description?
• Where did you deposit the lost item? Glove compartment, wheel well, or lost and found office?

If you have left an item in the vehicle, please contact MILES support. To help MILES assist you as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready:

• License plate
• Date
• Where did you terminate the rental (street)?

MILES rentals can be terminated or started at the airport at any time. In both cases, an airport fee is charged. An overview of the airport fees can be found here.

MILES charges an unlock fee and a fee for each kilometer that you drive. Current prices are displayed in the SIXT app at the time of booking. Please note, that the maximum daily rate is €93 including 150km, which is automatically applied. Hourly and daily packages from MILES are currently unavailable for booking in the SIXT app. 

For trips to the airport, MILES automatically applies the effective airport tariff. Please review the terms and conditions for airport trips here (e.g., maximum rental period, maximum mileage).
