What are the requirements for using SIXT share?
- Minimum age: 21 years old (for certain vehicle categories a minimum age of 25 years is required)
- Valid driver's license for vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions
- Latest version of the SIXT App
- Registration in the SIXT App and documents approved by SIXT
- For certain vehicle categories, you need to be in possession of a driver's license for at least 5 years
Can another person use my SIXT account and rent a car?
The vehicles may only be used by you. Unauthorized users void all insurance coverage and are fully liable.
Can I smoke in the car?
Smoking is not permitted in our vehicles. Please be considerate of other customers.
Can I use SIXT share to go abroad?
As stated in our Terms & Conditions, international travel to the following countries is allowed: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Vatican. Journeys to all other countries are prohibited. Please note that in all other countries there may not be full insurance cover and you may be charged for any costs incurred (e.g. for a stolen vehicle).
Can I end my journey abroad?
No, it is not possible to end your SIXT share journey abroad via the app. Please return the car to the country where your journey began and end your journey in a SIXT share business area or at a SIXT station. Please note, additional fees apply for any journey which does not end in the SIXT share business area, or SIXT station, of origin.
Can I take animals with me?
The transport of animals is only permitted in a transport box in the boot. Please be considerate of other customers.
Can I use SIXT share at the age of 18?
No, the minimum age to use SIXT share is 21 years old. Have you already registered even though you are not 21 years old yet? No problem, we offer various other products for young drivers such as SIXT rent. Therefore, it is not necessary to delete your account and as soon as you are 21 years old you can upload your documents directly via the SIXT App to use SIXT share.
